SCLEROTHERAPY
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive medical treatment procedure for the treatment of varicose veins as well as spider veins.
Varicose veins are abnormally enlarged and tortuous veins that typically occur in the legs due to weakened or damaged venous valves. Varicose veins can lead to several complications, including leg pain, swelling, night cramps, thrombophlebitis and ulcerations which may impair mobility and quality of life. They may also be aesthetically displeasing.
Spider veins, however, are small, dilated web-like blood vessels visible just underneath the surface of the skin which are usually asymptomatic but can also be aesthetically displeasing.

How does Sclerotherapy work?
The procedure involves injecting a sclerosing agent directly into the target veins which results in collapse, destruction and eventually resorption of the veins.
Aftercare
Compression bandages are worn for 2 weeks post procedure; however, downtime is minimal, and mobility is not limited.
Treatment session times vary according to severity of the veins and some patients may require more than one treatment session to obtain optimal results.
